The Bible said in James that “Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” – James 1:12 (NKJV)
God promised to reward us whenever we endure temptations, because He already knows that temptations will surely come our ways. For “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” – 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV)
We can see that God reassured us that He will surely make a way of escape for us when we are faced with any kind of temptations, but you will be the main person to understand that this is temptation and seek for a way of escape, thus you have to learn how to aggressively resist the temptations, since you as a Christian has been made aware that there must be temptations in your way.
How to Endure Temptations
As the Bible says in James 1:12, to endure temptation means to go through all the earthly trials and tribulations (temptations) without giving up on your heavenly race, it also means to outlast the devil and show him that you are a true Child of God.
Enduring temptations also means a Child of God going through a time or period of temptation without letting the temptation change your attitude or commitment to God through Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ and His Temptations
A great example of how to endure and defeat temptations is the Life and Journey of Jesus Christ. The Bible accounts that Jesus Christ never mistreated people or made them feel less human when He was being tempted by the devil, and when we – who are called by His name have come up to the maturity stage in our Christian life, it is a must that we have to learn and follow His example.
God understands all our Temptations, Trials and tribulations. Jesus feels our pains and clearly understands what we’re facing with every temptation that comes our way. He has been there before and have showed us ways of escape.
Why Does God Allow Temptations?
Then you way ask; why does God allow us to pass through temptations? Yes Sometimes God allows us to face temptations so He can bring our attention to all the areas of our lives that we are weak.
God knows our weaknesses, and He has given us ways to help us overcome these unending temptations.
Maturity comes through conquering your trials and temptations. For each time you cross any temptation that comes your way, you learn a lot from it, and this aids your Christian growth. “The only way you can have all that Jesus wants you to have is to be what He wants you to be”.
To stand up and declare your strength in God, you have to be determined to be patient and utilise the Grace of God to stand up under any temptation that might be on your way. This will surely put you one step ahead of Temptations and way ahead of the devil, our collective enemy.
Our Prayers should always be that God will help us through the Holy Spirit, to be patient, standing strong and always staying one step ahead of temptations and our collective enemy – the devil.
Do you want to be One Step Ahead of the enemy? You have to learn how to aggressively endure and resist temptations. You have to be committed to God, to be able to have access to Him whenever you are faced with any temptations.
There is no other way you can have this access if you do not know The Access way to God – Jesus Christ. You must come to the realisation that Jesus Christ is the Son of God; that He came to the Earth to relink us with God through His Death and Resurrection.
It is ONLY when you ACCEPT Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour that you can be free to call on God constantly to help you out in times of troubles, temptations and tribulations.
Ask Jesus Christ to come into your life and become your Lord and Personal Saviour today. May God give your Wisdom to pray aright and the understanding to know who you are in Him. Amen.
