A Matter of Choice: My Easter Thought!

There are a lot of things Jesus Christ could have done otherwise, as a matter of choice.
He could have refused to come to earth and die for our sins, as a matter of choice.
He could have amassed immense and stupendous wealth, as a matter of choice.
He could have rode on the most flamboyant chariot of his time, as a matter of choice.

He could have chosen the best technocrats in Israel as his aides, as a matter of choice.
He could have chosen to be born at the Jewish International Medical centre, as a matter of choice.
He could have chosen to target the rich and mighty in the society for evangelism, as a matter of choice.
He could have charged money and gratification for miracles to fund His ministry, as a matter of choice.

He could have lived in a fortress with magnificent houses, as a matter of choice.
He could have done all these because He is the owner of the universe and the choice is His.
But He chose not to. Yes, He chose the opposite.
He chose to come to earth to die and pay for our sins.

He died to redeem us.
He chose to live a simple and pious life.
He chose to ride on a borrowed donkey.
He chose fishermen and some low lives as His disciples.

He chose to be born in a cattle manger.
He chose to minister to the rich and the poor.
He chose to do good and perform miracles without mentioning money.
He chose not to have a house of His own and slept wherever was available.

His name is Jesus the Christ, the son of God.
Those who follow His steps are called Christians.
The meaning of being a Christian is to be like Christ.
If we are to be like Christ, then we should be able to make the choices of Christ.
As we celebrate His death and resurrection, let us reflect on our lives.
Are we making those right choices as Christians?

  • As a matter of Choice, Jesus Christ would have refused to go ahead with the death on the Cross, and started His own Ministry on Earth.

As a Matter of Choice, Jesus would have sealed the mouth of Judas Iscariot and blinded his inner eyes so he would not see Him.
As a Matter of Choice, Jesus Christ would have refused to resurrect and disappear to Heaven.
Jesus could have charged money and gratification for miracles to fund His ministry, as a matter of choice.

His name is Jesus the Christ, the son of God. As a matter of Fact, He is God.
