The last days are upon us, many Churches in the 21st Century are clearly off the mark, replacing the Teachings of Jesus Christ with their own self-made thoughts all in the guise to “acquire” more members and increase the financial takings.
“Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons” ~ 1 Timothy 4:1 (NKJV)
In this piece, Pastor Steve Okeke of Kingdom King Church International, Ado Ekiti, Nigeria, opens our mind to the dangers of the apostasies of men and the quest for monetizing the Word of God by diluting God’s Words with their own thoughts.
So many Pastors have TAUGHT their Congregation to Sow Money to connect into the Gift of God they are carrying and the Church seems not to see any Danger and Error with this Practice.
But as the Holy Ghost showed in the Word of God in Acts 8:18-23, that it was a sorcerer of Samaria named Simon, Barjesus, who used to bewitch the people that initiated the doctrine of offering money to get the Gift of God…
“18 And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, 19 saying, “Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”” ~ Acts 8:18-19 (NKJV)
But Peter did not buy into the deception of witchcraft that Simon was about to introduce to the early Church, which some 21st Century Church has bought into and we seem to be practicing this act of witchcraft freely;
“20 But Peter said to him, “Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money! 21 You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God. 22 Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you. 23 For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.” ~ Acts 8:20-23 (NKJV)
Can the Church Sell the Gifts of God?
When you try to tap into Spiritual gift by giving money, it reveals five things;
- That you want to perish with your money.
- That you have no lot nor part in spiritual matters.
- That your heart is not right before God.
- That you are in a gall of bitterness and
- That you are in the bondage of iniquity.
These five dangers are also applicable to the person or preacher that encourages people to sow money to get spiritual gifts.
Finally, if it is a gift, why do you have to give money to get it? If you offer anything to get it, then it is no longer a gift but a property you bought!
We are set in this New Year to confront errors and root them out of the 21st Century Church.
Let the armies of the kingdom arise!
