I read an article on the ‘Let my Enemy Die doctrine“, where the only thing that matters to most people is seeing others as their enemy, and constantly praying for the death of their ‘chosen’ enemy.
Most believers have been ‘brainwashed’ into seeing nothing good, but only noticing and constantly advancing the power of the enemy. If the word ‘brainwash’ is too harsh for you, then my apologies, but for how long? Ok, let’s use the work – configured! Are you happy now? Then read on.
Its either your next door neighbour is a witch or your family members are the witches and wizards that are blocking your ways from making it. This calls to mind the ‘I must Make It Mentality’ that is the order of the day.
Many people who have ‘sincerely’ chosen to call themselves Christians or popularly – ‘believers’ have been fed a line that you must constantly have an ‘assumed’ enemy to wrestle with on daily basis, or else you will not be able to advance in your faith and prayer life building.
I am of the obvious fact that we wrestle not against the flesh but against the principalities and powers in high places (the flavour of the quotation is mine), but then Jesus came as a human, and witness the same things that we are presently witnessing.
The only thing that Jesus did not see (though I can’t categorically place my head to know if it was there in his days or not) is the social networks and the explosion of the internet. But this aspect is for discussion on another day.
Let My Enemy Die Prayer!
I guess the problem of misquoting and misinterpretation of the Bible could be attributed to the mere fact that many people are unrepentant in their ways and are never satisfied with being under an authority, thus instead of carefully sharing their ideas about what they feel they have understood about a Bible passage, they prefer to add a little flavour to it and make their own doctrine. This I prefer to call the ‘Doctrine of Sugar and Sweetener Flavour’.
This is the problem of the proliferation of Pentecostal or Evangelistic Doctrines! Everyone wants to add a flavour to his own assumed understanding of the Bible passage to make it look more attractive and appetizing to the overly unsatisfied ‘believer’.
The Evangelism aspect of Pentecostalism has gradually been eroded by Evangelism and Doctrine of Satanism, devilsm and demonism. This is the practice of the preaching of demons and its works, rather than preaching and teaching people to open up their hearts and minds to receive Jesus Christ and believe that ONLY through Him we can have access to God and His Kingdom.
Most believers have been turned to average miracle seekers, who are made to psychologically believe that there must be a demon or an enemy somewhere who is blocking them from getting the fulfilment of their miracles. Yes such thing exists – ask Daniel in the Book of Daniels, but the Bible made us to understand that Daniel never prayed for his enemies to die.
God opened his eyes to see what was happening, not because he prayed ‘violent prayers’ or because he prayed the “let my enemy die’ kind of prayers, but because of his personal relationship with God.
Jesus on the other hand, who we all base our belief on, never prayed for the death of His enemies. He knew he had lots of people who have carefully considered Him as their enemy, but He simply asked God to forgive them. And Hey! He even gave one of His enemies (a thief a place in His Kingdom).
I have loads to say about the Doctrine of Let My Enemy Die Syndrome, but let me pause and take a breather for now. But before I sign out, I have one tiny bit of a question to ask, and i do hope you will answer me in all honesty!
What happens if you see someone as your enemy and you invoke the ‘my enemy fall and die’ prayer, and the same person invariably sees you as their enemy too, and consequently invokes the same ‘my enemy fall and die prayer’, who do you think God will answer?
Let me leave you for now, but please leave a comment below, no matter how short it is, and please also share with your friends and assumed enemy…. Let me not assume you are my enemy! Lool
