Do you know that there are at least Three Types of Tithing in the Bible? Has anyone ever taught you anything apart from the Levitical type of Tithing that only asks for one-tenth of your Produce?
Do you believe in Tithing? Is it Tithing of Money or Produce? Do you want to know the Truth about the Three Types of Tithing?
I am not talking about the present day Church teaching you about paying one-tenth of your Income in place of your produce. It is very hard to teach about REAL Tithing as practiced in the Bible, simply because it does not favour the Church in the present day. Or so they think.
What are the Three Types of Tithing in the Bible?
You know of Malachi 3:10 because you have heard it over a Billion times. It is being preached every time you gather in Church, etc.
BUT
You have refused to hear about Deuteronomy 14:23-26, Matthew 21:12, John 2:15 (Those greedy Seller who capitalised on people who are practicing Deut 14:26. I will address that on a separate Writeup.)
I am trying as much as possible not to make this a Church based talk, so I will jump and pass the involvement of any particular Church here.
As humans, when we continue to hear something from a Revered person or point, it gradually becomes a norm, notwithstanding if it’s correct or otherwise.
Jesus came to repair a Foundation which was faulty, yet we are willingly hanging on to the faulty foundations because we believe it’s much sweeter and better.
The Three Types of Tithing
Has anyone taught you about these three Types of Tithes?
- The Levitical, or Sacred Tithe (Numbers 18:21-24).
- The Tithe of the Feasts (Deut. 14:22-27).
- The Tithe for the Poor (Deut. 14:28, 29).
Have you also asked yourself “Why did the People of Israel stop Paying Tithes?” before Malachi came with that reminder?
People say you talk too much about Tithing, why don’t you open your own Church. Well, there is no need for me to start a Church, but if I do, I will teach them the Foundations as Jesus taught, and I will also do the same thing the Early Church did – Not Serving Tables, but communal living. Sharing everything in one. Act 6:2.
It wasn’t Tithing that killed Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5:1-11), but their Greed.
